About Eliza Lehrman

Eliza Lehrman is originally from New York. She has had the benefit of training with several great horsemen from the USA and Europe, including: Andre Dignelli, Norman Dello Joio, Michelle Grubb, Stanny Van Paesschen, Robert Crandall and Kate Oliver. She competes in the jumper ring and is a successful Grand Prix and young horse rider and trainer. She has the knowledge and foundation of the American Showjumping system from the equitation, hunter and jumper experts with whom she worked. She also has years of experience living and riding in Belgium where she acquired additional training techniques. She has created a unique and personal training and teaching style that is a combination of what she believes to be the best of the principles she has learned along the way. The basis of her training is grounded in the basic fundamentals of position, balance and connection. The foundational classical use of seat and leg principles, combined with the “forward” riding and light seat technique of the recent greats in the USA combine to inform her riding style.  Eliza begins with a horse in training with the goal that the horse should reach its full potential through correct, diligent and patient training and show experience. When her horses are sold, the new owner can be assured of a horse with a strong foundation, rideability and potential for continued success.

She has over 20 years of experience teaching all levels of riding. She excels in the explanation of the details in flatwork and use of exercises that help to develop the performance and confidence of both horse and rider. Eliza enjoys sharing the elements of the process she uses to produce a resilient, successful and confident show horse.  She offers consulting in all areas of the business to young professionals in the industry.  She successfully identifies and produces both hunters and jumpers for the future showjumping market; and she has a proven record of connecting clients and professionals with the right next horse.
